This week on The Texas Bucket List we’re feasting with our eyes in a botanical garden in Orange, our hearts and stomachs at a burger joint in Dallas, and our patriotic minds in La Porte on Battleship Texas.
As we travel through the Shangri la Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange we feel connected to both nature and our swampy neighbors next door. We’re reminded just how beautiful nature can be, even if it houses a few alligators and snakes.
Our next stop is Wingfield’s, a burger joint using a scientifically calculated burger assembly method in Dallas. Owned by a former biology teacher and one of his former students, Wingfield’s earned a spot on the top 100 burgers in Big D. The story behind these burgers will warm your heart, and the passion with which they’re made will leave your stomach full and your mouth turned up in a grin.
We finish our weekly travels on Battleship Texas in La Porte. This over 100-year-old Texas gem truly embodies the spirit of Texas as the last surviving US battleship to have fought in both world wars. A tour through the ship leaves us fired up about Texas, US, and world history.
There are more stops in Texas than any Texan can say grace over, but these are three you won’t want to miss. So, join us this week as we enjoy these Lone Star State treasures.
