This week on The Texas Bucket List, it’s a feast for the eyes and the stomach as we behold both culinary and Cadillac artistic delights, starting at a bakery with some pastries that almost look too good to eat, an art gallery with some unique repurposed materials, and a monstrous meaty delight of a burger that is a tremendous feat for the customer to eat.
We start the day off with breakfast at the Two Czech Chicks bakery in Danbury trying out a Lone Star State staple that has festivals dedicated to its consumption across the state: the kolache. This recipe has been handed down from the culinary matriarch of the Sykora family and has a flavor that you won’t want to miss!
At our next stop we might have bit off more than we could chew at Panda Burgers in El Paso. You name it, their burger has it. From quesadilla to chorizo to avocado, this burger will bust your belt and is sure to satisfy.
Next Nathan Bonnes brings us “Back in My Arms Tonight,” singing his original country music composition.
On our last stop we head up to Amarillo to the Lile Art Gallery, where we meet up with the owner “Crocodile” Lile as he gets crafty with some Cadillac Ranch acrylic to create some charming pieces of Cadilite jewelry. Just like the nickname of the artist himself, these trinkets are every bit as unique as the material from which they are made.
