This week on The Texas Bucket List we hop on over to a hotel with a hefty bit of history in Austin, grab a burger in El Paso while Felina whirls, fall in love with some country music by Jake Worthington and tiptoe through the tulips
We start things off by stopping at a place of rest in Austin known as the Driskill Hotel. With its magnificent architecture, tasteful designs and elegant accommodations, the Driskill is a Texas luxury legend. Stop for a chat and drinks with the barman, who’s seen everyone from rock stars to politicians in these lofty halls.
It’s not even nighttime but you can find us at Rosa’s Cantina in El Paso, the legendary bar and restaurant made famous by Marty Robbins’s song “El Paso.” After we try the chili con queso burger, we think it should be made famous for something else!
We “Just Keep Falling in Love” with the guitar pickin’ and country music singin’ of Jake Worthington at the Grand Stafford in Bryan.
Lastly, we peek in at Pilot Point to visit a garden that’s known for its Texas Tulips. There’s no better way to end your day than being surrounded by beautiful, sweet-smelling flowers and a glorious sunset. You’d better come and see them soon, because in six weeks these Texas treasures will burrow back into their bulbs to get their beauty rest for next Spring!
