This week on The Texas Bucket List, we’re throwing it back with some retro eats, events, and drinks, all of them aged to perfection.
Our first stop takes a step back to the fashion-forward styles of bygone eras. The annual Galveston Island Beach Revue features a bounty of Texas beauties flaunting their vintage looks in a contest to take home the gold.
After that, we grab a bite at Pop’s Burger Stand in Waxahachie that’s exactly the kind of mom and pop eatery you’d expect. Their Low & Slow BBQ Burger has withstood the test of time and makes for one delicious burger.
We head back down to Galveston to hear from fiddler Kevin Anthony as he fiddles out a song about Interstate 45.
Winding down at the end of the day, we kick back and grab a glass at the Messina Hof Winery & Resort in Bryan. At their annual Harvest Festival, we get things kicking with some grape stomping before cooling off with a taste of some sweet Texas wine.
