On this week’s episode of The Texas Bucket List we’re rolling through the Lone-Star State hunting down a one of a kind shopping experience, making a new friend who really knows how to fix a burger, and getting in touch with our German side at an Oktoberfest celebration in San Antonio.
First, we explore all sorts of unique finds in Canton at the First Monday Trade Days. While here we meet some of the people who make Canton well worth a stop and learn about the history behind this Texas sized shopping experience.
Next, our taste buds make a new friend in the Devil’s Burger, and we make a friend in the man behind this tasty treasure, Duke Gould, owner of J&P Bar and Grill. After realizing his friends enjoyed coming to his man cave for free food, Duke decided to try his hand at the restaurant business, and we’re sure glad he did. Once you see the Devil’s Burger, you will be, too.
We end this week in San Antonio where we celebrate Oktoberfest with the Beethoven Maennerchor. There may be Oktoberfest parties all over the Lone-Star State but this one has been around since the 1860s. This celebration brings smiles to beer drinking, bratwurst loving, braggadocios Texans of every decent.
So grab your wallet, load up your taste buds, get your beer stein ready, and prepare yourself for some Texas sized fun.
