This week on The Texas Bucket List we take a Texas sized road trip to learn a little Civil War history, give our stamp of approval to a good old fashioned burger, and get the play by play on one of John Madden’s favorite Texas eateries.
First stop, Fort Duncan in Eagle Pass where cultures have combined. With the U.S. Army’s presence here since 1849, a border shared with Mexico, and rich historical roots, it’s safe to say Fort Duncan is well worth a stop.
Next we head on down to Corpus Christi, where we find a Post Office building that now serves as a unique burger joint. Over at The Post, they deliver simple but good burgers that are sure to leave you licking your lips.
We end our road trip this week in Van Horn, at the original restaurant named Chuy’s. The food here is a real touchdown, but you don’t have to take our word for it. John Madden visits this West Texas eatery multiple times a year, and the list of celebrities who agree with this statement goes on and on.
So get ready to feast your eyes on some of the Lone-Star States best treasures this week as we continue to bring you everything there is to see, do, and experience in Texas.
